About French Montana

Born Karim Kharbouch on November 9, 1984, in Casablanca, Morocco, French Montana immigrated to the South Bronx, New York with his family at age 13 and built his reputation through the Cocaine City street DVD series and a prolific run of mixtapes starting in 2007. His debut studio album Excuse My French (2013) peaked at number four on the Billboard 200, and his second album Jungle Rules (2017) produced his career-defining smash Unforgettable featuring Swae Lee, which spent over a year on the charts, surpassed a billion streams, and earned diamond certification. His prolific mixtape output has continued unabated, with Coke Boys 6 with DJ Drama reaching the top 20 of the Billboard 200 in 2023, and Mac & Cheese 5 arriving in February 2024. His 2025 output included Make America Wavy Again with Max B, Outta Here with Trippie Redd, and Back From Abu Dhabi with Rick Ross, while 2026 has already brought fresh singles Ever Since U Left Me (I Went Deaf), Whippin That Wave, and Metro Wave. Off the mic, Montana made headlines in August 2025 when he announced his engagement to Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra Al Maktoum, adding yet another remarkable chapter to one of rap's most extraordinary life stories.
